Build it. Break it. Share it.

A free 3D game engine that runs in a browser tab. No install, no account, no code — and the finished game is a link.

Desktop and mobile browsers. Nothing to download, at either end.

What it is

Rumpus Engine is a free, browser-based 3D game engine and level editor. You build games through a visual editor — no coding, no installation and no account — and share them as a URL that opens straight into a playable game. Shooters, racing, top-down and side-scrolling, with peer-to-peer multiplayer built in.

Build

Place it, don't program it

Sculpt terrain, drop in shapes, search thousands of free 3D models and set them down. Drag a gizmo or type exact numbers. Press P and you're playing — no build step, no compile, same session.

Direct

Cutscenes with real camera control

Author shots on a path with lens, focus, roll and easing, and preview the framing live while you tune it. The same editor handles branching NPC dialogue and a node graph for cause and effect.

Five genres, one editor

Arena shooters, snap-together racing circuits, top-down twin-stick, 2.5D side-scrollers and story levels — all from the same tools and the same level format. A racetrack and a firefight can share a world.

Why browser

The friction is the point

  • Nothing to install. No launcher, no SDK, no 10 GB download before your first cube.
  • Any machine. A school laptop, a locked-down work desktop, a borrowed Chromebook.
  • Your players don't download either. A level compresses into a link that opens as a game.
  • Multiplayer without a server. Peer-to-peer co-op and PvP on a room code.
  • And the honest limit: it publishes to the web, not to Steam or consoles. Here's when to use something else.
